What's in a Name?
Well in this case, not much. We were both certain that we wanted an Italian name. She’s not really named after anyone we just liked the name. So for those of you who thought that this was a hat tip to The Sopranos, sorry to disappoint.
Our daughter is not named after this woman.
We first started liking the name when we were in Rome just before we were married. Strolling
the Palatine Hill we came across the House of Livia. Livia was the wife of Caesar Augustus. She was his trusted confidant and wielded unheard of power for a female in the early days of the Roman Empire. She was the mother, grandmother, great grandmother or great great grandmother to eight emperors of the Holy Roman Empire. If you want to know more about her you can find out more by clicking here.
